My name is Matt Privett, if you couldn’t figure that out by the domain name.
I am a believer in and part of the body of the Lord Jesus Christ with a B.A. in Biblical & Theological Studies from Boyce College of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and have pastored churches in Kentucky, Ohio, and my native North Carolina. I’ve been married for eighteen years this month and am a father of four (and two who went to sleep in the womb).
I started a web site, themattrix.com, back in 1999 and ran it through 2020 when I decided to let it go. A few months later, though, in response to the increasing censorship of Big Tech, I changed my mind. Relying on the platforms developed by Mark, Jack, et al just didn’t, and still doesn’t, seem like a good idea. Running it back, in a sense, with a personal web page, seems like a better option, at least for now. Thus, mattprivett.com was born in January 2021.
Stay and you’ll read posts regarding the most important things in the universe, like the Bible, theology, and how to live it out. You’ll read about relevant things like politics, government, and the implications thereof. You’ll also see meaninglessness of all kinds (think sports, movies, or even old school professional wrestling).
In any event, thanks for stopping by. I hope God uses this site to glorify Himself and edify His church.
Grace and peace to you,
Matt Privett
